Thursday, 8th August:
Start your Women’s Day Celebrations off early, this Thursday, at the Sister Outsider Art Exhibition. Hosted by Community ZA, the collective exhibition explores the diverse experience of South African womanhood. Entrance is free and doors open at 6:30 pm for you to come by, grab a coffee from the Daily Dosage Café and enjoy a showcase of visual artists, poets, writers, speakers, performers and pop up shops.
Friday, 9th August:
Push your limits against top athletes or set your own pace at the Totalsports Women’s Race Durban, Friday 8 am. In association with PinkDrive, the Totalsports Women’s Race is committed to education around breast cancer as well as improving the services available to women across South Africa. Choose between a 5km or 10km run and join thousands of women from Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg as they run the streets, raising awareness around breast cancer.
Thirsty from all the running? Or just rolled out of bed and in need of a caffeine boost? The Assagay Coffee Farm is hosting a Women’s Day Tour and Tasting from 10 am to 2 pm. Starting with a tour of the farm, experience coffee picking first hand and watch as the beans get processed through the old pulping machine, then return to the coffee house for a sampling of the finished product. Finish your Friday morning adventure by relaxing on the deck overlooking country views and enjoying a slice of homemade cake.
Too busy running around after little ones and drinking your coffee on the go? The O&O Café Westville is hosting a family-friendly Women’s Day Celebration, from 10 am to 4 pm. Browse the craft market, sing along to live music and keep the kids busy with lots of fun activities.
