Mount Vernon woman narrowly escapes gunshots from hijackers

A Mount Vernon woman narrowly escapes gunshots from suspects who attempted to hijack her outside her home, last night.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas  Mathios said that the resident managed to flee for safety when hijackers fired shots at her vehicle. “The resident had just arrived home when she noticed a suspicious white Audi with no registration plates parked next to her driveway. Two suspects jumped out of the vehicle and pointed firearms at the motorist and walked towards her vehicle,” he said. The incident occurred at around 8.10 pm last night.

“The motorist managed to keep her wits about her and drove off, the suspects then fired three shots at her vehicle. She kept on driving and went looking for help at a local petrol station. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said. Bellair SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
