Location: Pioneer Crescent, Moseley
Date: 07 March 2025
Incident: House Robbery & Stolen Vehicles

Blue Security’s Tactical Officer was alerted to a house robbery at a residence in Pioneer Crescent, Moseley. At least two suspects gained entry through the kitchen aluminium sliding window. Upon hearing their dog bark, the victims saw the intruders emerging from the kitchen into the passageway. Acting quickly, the victims hid in the bathroom while the suspects proceeded to a bedroom at the end of the passage, attempting to force entry while calling out in Zulu. Receiving no response, the suspects took a laptop and vehicle keys before fleeing the scene with two stolen vehicles.

Our Tactical Officer immediately proceeded to known locations in Umlazi, while a car tracking company was activated for one of the stolen vehicles. The tracking signal confirmed the vehicle’s presence in the vicinity, prompting the mobilisation of two additional ARO teams for support.

Upon arrival, members of the car tracking company located one of the stolen vehicles, while our Tactical Officer proceeded to a nearby location and successfully recovered the second vehicle. The homeowners were contacted and provided spare keys to our officer. Our ARO assisted in transporting them to the recovery scene, after which both vehicles were escorted back to their residence on Pioneer Crescent by our Tactical Officer, responding officers, and the car tracking company personnel.

The premises were thoroughly inspected by our ARO and Tactical Officer. It is suspected that the suspects scaled the wall to the right of the driveway before accessing the kitchen window. Our Tactical Team will continue investigations using CCTV footage and SNIPR technology. However, early indications suggest that the suspects may have entered the area on foot from the M7.

This swift and coordinated response once again demonstrates Blue Security’s commitment to proactive crime prevention and community safety.
