Incident: Break-In & Robbery
Our CCPU responded to a call for assistance on Blundell Road, Malvern, following a break-in at a resident’s Wendy hut on Anderson Road. What ensued was a determined two-and-a-half-hour pursuit through Noetj Park Nature Reserve and Shallcross.
A Malvern CPF member initially spotted the suspect along Blundell Road, prompting the suspect to flee into the Nature Reserve. Our Tactical Officer tracked the suspect’s footprints through the reserve. The CPF member later spotted the suspect on Shallcross Road, forcing him to abandon the stolen items, which included a petrol chainsaw, a Ryobi drill, and a Ryobi angle grinder. The suspect fled by jumping down a cliff towards a river, eventually escaping towards Burlington.
Thankfully, the resident was reunited with all stolen property, thanks to the collaborative effort of our CCPU, Tactical Officer, and CPF.
