Blue Security’s recently deployed tactical operations team in the Highway is already reaping success with the arrest of a wanted criminal by the police.
Blue Security tactical ambassador Russel Lawson said the suspect was wanted by the police for an incident of theft in the Hillcrest area earlier this month. “The Hillcrest SAPS investigating officer had circulated an identikit of the suspect who had been on the run from the police. He was spotted walking along the road in the Pinetown area yesterday,” he said.
Lawson said he had called out to the suspect who had confirmed his identity. “The suspect did not resist arrest and was detained and handed over to the Pinetown SAPS. The Hillcrest investigating officer was immediately advised of the arrest. It is expected that the suspect will be transferred to the Hillcrest police station for further investigation,” he said.
Lawson said Blue Security’s team was committed to working closely with the police and neighbourhood watch groups to assist with the arrest of suspects and proactive policing of the community. “We are confident that we can make a difference in the fight against crime by partnering with both the police and other local security companies as well as residents to stem the tide of crime and make our communities feel safe again,” he said.
