Incident: Organised Crime Prevention Operation
On 6 March 2025, Blue Security’s Tactical Unit assisted SAPS Westville, Crime Intelligence (CI), SAPS Pinetown, and Security Roleplayers in a planned operation targeting theft in the Westville area.
Crime Intelligence identified an illegal scrap yard operating next to a river in Clare Estate, suspected of purchasing stolen property. During the raid, two suspects were arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including:
– Operating an unlicensed scrap yard,
– Damage to essential infrastructure,
– Bribery, and
– Possession of stolen property.
Further investigation led to the discovery of concealed Telkom and other cable hidden inside a metal locker underground.
This operation highlights the collaborative efforts between law enforcement, security professionals, and intelligence teams in tackling organised crime and safeguarding our communities.
