Location: Kloof
Incident: Wanted Stolen Vehicle
On Saturday, 23rd November, Blue Security showcased the impact of proactive technology and collaboration in combatting crime.
Earlier last week, a case was opened by a complainant following a tyre theft incident in Westmead, where a vehicle was used to collect the stolen tyres using fraudulent documents. The Blue Security Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) swiftly acted, loading details of the suspect vehicle onto our Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, SNIPR.
By leveraging the power of SNIPR, our advanced camera network, and the integrated ANPR system, Blue Security’s officers were able to quickly track the vehicle’s location. On the 23rd, the vehicle was detected in Kloof, and Blue Security’s Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The driver and occupants of the vehicle were detained by Blue Security officers. SAPS members from Pinetown, who were already investigating the case, were contacted and arrived on scene. The vehicle and its occupants were then taken to SAPS Pinetown for further investigation.
This incident highlights the power of Blue Security’s technology, specifically our ANPR system, in identifying and tracking vehicles linked to criminal activity. Our proactive use of this technology, in collaboration with SAPS, played a key role in the swift apprehension of suspects and helped ensure that the case continues to be thoroughly investigated.
Blue Security’s commitment to using cutting-edge technology in our security measures provides our communities with an added layer of safety, ensuring quick responses to threats and a powerful deterrent to crime.
