In a recent case involving fraudulent activity, Blue Security’s advanced security systems, specifically our Advanced Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, played a pivotal role in tracking and apprehending suspects connected to a fraud case involving counterfeit R200 notes.
Following a notification from SAPS regarding a vehicle linked to the fraud investigation, Blue Security’s Tactical Ambassador promptly loaded the vehicle’s number plate details into our ANPR system, ensuring that any movement of the vehicle would be detected and tracked. With the suspects known to frequently travel through Kloof and down Pioneer Road towards Wyebank, it was only a matter of time before the vehicle’s number plate was flagged as it entered Kloof.
The Tactical Ambassador, anticipating the vehicle’s route, quickly set up a watch near the Shell Garage in Kloof. As expected, the vehicle was spotted heading down Pioneer Road. The Tactical Ambassador immediately called for backup, and our Blue Security Armed Response Officer (ARO) swiftly arrived on scene to assist in stopping the vehicle.
The collaborative effort between the Tactical Ambassador and the ARO ensured the suspects were detained without incident. SAPS arrived shortly thereafter, taking all three suspects into custody and transporting them to Pinetown SAPS for processing.
This success story underscores the invaluable role of Blue Security’s ANPR system in crime prevention and how it supports our officers in the field. We commend the quick-thinking and professionalism of our Tactical Ambassador in closing in on the suspects and the timely assistance provided by our ARO, ensuring the safety and security of our community.
