Incident: Wanted Stolen Vehicle
On Saturday, 23rd November, Blue Security showcased the impact of proactive technology and collaboration in combatting crime.
Between 26th October and 20th November 2024, several vehicle break-ins were reported in the Kloof area. The incidents included the break-in of a VW Polo on 26th October and a Suzuki Jimny on 20th November, where a school bag, other small items, and damage to the driver’s door were reported. The suspects were caught on CCTV, their vehicle details were circulated.
On 27th November, Blue Security’s Tactical Ambassador, who was conducting crime prevention patrols in the Kloof area, recognised the registration number and distinguishing features of the vehicle linked to the break-ins. Acting quickly, the Tactical Ambassador followed the vehicle and contacted SAPS Pinetown to coordinate the response.
With the support of Blue Armed Response Officer (ARO) teams and Blue Tactical unit, the suspect’s vehicle was stopped on Village Road, Kloof. The suspects were detained while SAPS Pinetown members as well as SAPS Crime Intellegence quickly arrived on scene. A search of the vehicle conducted by SAPS revealed items used to break into the vehicles.
The suspects and their vehicle were subsequently transported to SAPS Pinetown for further processing.
This incident highlights the critical role of Blue Security’s Tactical Ambassadors in preventing crime and assisting SAPS in the apprehension of suspects. The swift and coordinated actions between our Tactical Ambassador, ARO teams, and SAPS resulted in a successful operation, ensuring the suspects faced justice.
