Blue allies with Rescue Care to mobilise emergency response when seconds count

Blue Security has launched a partnership with Rescue Care to provide victims of crime and residents with rapid response private medical emergency assistance.

Blue Security operations director Brian Jackson and Rescue Care managing director, Garrith Jamieson.

Blue Security operations director Brian Jackson said the firm has made the decision to partner with Rescue Care, a privately owned emergency medical service, to enhance its service offering to victims of crime and its home and business clients.

Jackson said residents and business owners who are Blue Security clients will now benefit from the private paramedic service in the case of a medical emergency, such as a shooting or a stabbing, or in case of any other general medical emergency in the home or at the business premises.

“Our partnership with Rescue Care will ensure that our clients receive rapid medical emergency assistance when it is most needed to save life and limb. Our control centre will ensure that a local ambulance is quickly dispatched to the scene where medical emergency assistance will be provided to stabilise the patient,” Jackson said.

“If the patient needs to be transported to hospital, this will be done at a preferential transportation rate for our clients. We believe this value added service will go a long way to helping our customers in an emergency,” he said. Rescue Care will then bill the patient directly for the ambulance service rendered.

Rescue Care managing director, Garrith Jamieson said the firm had partnered with Blue Security because of the company’s good reputation and shared values which included putting patients and customers first. “As the preferred medical provider for Blue Security, clients will have easy access to our services by making just one call to have an armed response vehicle and an ambulance dispatched at the same time,” he said.

“We are local so we know the greater Durban, Amanzimtoti, Highway and Ballito areas well and have bases all over, so an emergency call is fielded a lot quicker and an ambulance is dispatched more swiftly, to get to the patient in the golden hour,” he said. “We are looking forward to working closely with Blue Security to provide a critical service to their clients in their time of greatest need,” Jamieson said.

For medical emergency assistance tap the panic button on Blue Security’s mobile app, press the medical button on your keypad or phone the Blue Security control centre on 031 717 5000 and an ambulance will be sent your way.
