Chatsworth, Road 706. Armed Robbery - Residential (30 January 2012, 9:57:49) A suspect held up the resident at knife point as she was leaving the house and stole her bag.
Hillcrest, Homestead Avenue. Theft of a Motor Vehicle - Residential (28 January 2012, 8:29:54) A black Nissan Double Cab, registration number NU 35597, was stolen from the parking lot outside the premises. Two suspects in a white bakkie fled in an unknown direction.
Malvern, Park Road. Theft of a Motor Vehicle - Residential (02 February 2012, 2:02:21) Suspects derailed the driveway gate and stole a 1400 bakkie, registration number ND 105163 that was parked in the yard.
Rossburgh, Sutton Road. Theft of a Motor Vehicle - Business (29 January 2012, 8:22:26) Suspects forced open the driveway gate and a Nissan truck, registration number ND 642-233, was stolen from the premises.
Chatsworth, Syringa Drive. Gatecrashing- Residential (28 January 2012, 16:00:26) Suspects derailed the driveway gate and forced open the front door and security gate. Two laptops were stolen.
Queensburgh, Camphorwood Road. Gatecrashing - Residential (28 January 2012, 20:09:07) Suspects derailed the driveway gate and forced open the security gate and front door. Two TVs and a home theatre system were stolen.
Moseley Park, Rushbrook Road. Gatecrashing - Residential (29 January 2012, 14:29:36) Suspects forced open the driveway gate and a sliding door. Three TVs and a home theater system were stolen.
La Lucia, Timavo Drive. Gatecrashing - Residential (04 February 2012, 18:34:40) Suspects forced open the driveway gate and broke the front door. A TV and a Toyota Hilux, registration number NUR 55832 and a Corolla Verso, registration number NUR 19190 were stolen from the garage.
Yellowwood Park, Starling Avenue. Gatecrashing - Residential (04 February 2012, 12:27:34) Suspects derailed the driveway gate and entered the property and forced open a sliding door. A cell phone and a camera were stolen.
Sunningdale, Fernlea Road. Gatecrashing - Residential (04 February 2012, 18:17:45) Suspects derailed the driveway gate and forced open the security gate and front door. A TV, a laptop and jewellery were stolen.
Westville, Caefron Avenue. Gatecrashing - Residential (06 February 2012, 4:25:27) Suspects derailed the driveway gate and forced open the security gate and a door to an office. Two computers were stolen.
Talk about deja vu ... suspects derailed the driveway gate, forced open the security gate and front door… If we’ve written that line once, we’ve written it a thousand times. The moral of the story is to remember the 4 Ds of security.
Umhlanga, Kingston Place. Housebreaking - Residential (28 January 2012, 13:07:52) Suspects forced open a garage window and removed a window frame from a balcony area. Three laptops, passports, an iPod, garden clippers and a brush cutter were stolen.

Durban North, Ellis Park Drive. Housebreaking - Residential (29 January 2012, 10:49:10) Suspects broke a lounge window and entered the premises. Two cell phones, glasses, a pen, a lighter and cigarettes were stolen.
Winston Park, Alexander Road. Housebreaking - Residential (29 January 2012, 19:29:03) Suspects forced a sliding door open and entered the house. A TV, home theater system, a hi-fi, and a DVD player were stolen.
Umbilo, Fenniscowles Road. Housebreaking - Residential (30 January 2012, 15:32:49) Suspects broke a bedroom window and entered the house. A laptop was stolen.
Chatsworth, Crossmore Drive. Housebreaking - Residential (30 January 2012, 17:17:28) A bicycle was stolen from a Wendy house on the property.
Waterfall, Kundalia Place. Housebreaking - Residential (30 January 2012, 2:37:42) Suspects entered the complex by crawling under the electric fence. A sliding door was forced open and the suspects ransacked the premises. A TV, a microwave and jewellery were stolen.
You think you’re safe because you live in a complex that is surrounded by an electric fence, and then the blighters go and crawl underneath it… we quote Homer Simpson when we say…. DOH!

Glenmore, John Geekie Road. Housebreaking - Residential (31 January 2012, 16:43:54) Suspects broke a bathroom window and pushed in the burglar guard. The suspects ransacked the bedrooms and electrical appliances were stolen.

Forest Hills, Valley Drive. Housebreaking - Residential (04 February 2012, 8:12:49) Suspects dug underneath the fence and entered the property. The suspects then forced open a security gate a patio door and entered the premises. A TV, two computers, a camera and a PlayStation were stolen.

What considerate, cultured housebreakers we have out in the North. In other parts of Durban they simply throw a rock through the window.

Morningside, Arran Road. Housebreaking - Residential (05 February 2012, 8:27:13) Suspects forced open the garage door and stole power tools, camping chairs gas bottles, a bicycle, a weed eater and a bed. The garage was not linked to the alarm system.
Glenwood, Davenport Avenue. Housebreaking - Business (28 January 2012, 9:14:35) Suspects entered the premises through the roof. The premises were ransacked and medication and a computer were stolen.
Westmead, Circuit Road. Housebreaking – Business (30 January 2012, 6:25:56) Suspects broke a window and pushed in the burglar guard. An internal door was forced open and a computer was stolen.
Glenashley, Newport Avenue. Housebreaking - Business (31 January 2012, 3:08:28) Suspects broke the front window with a boulder and stole cash.

Umbrella # 2. Each week we spot a odd crime trend. Last week it was the kettle and toaster combo, some weeks back suitcases, and this week umbrellas seem to be popular. Hillcrest, Old Main Road. Theft - Business (28 January 2012, 12:33:32) Two suspects stole cool drinks from the shop.
Glen Anil, Cypress Drive. Theft - Business (30 January 2012, 7:17:56) Two compressors were stolen from the yard.
Greyville, Arbuckle Road. Theft - Business (30 January 2012, 8:20:49) Suspects climbed up a wall and into an asbestos roof. The suspects removed metal parts from an air conditioning unit.
Truly, a city in which if the crooks could just figure out they how would steal the salt from your tears.
Prospecton, Prospecton Road. Theft - Business (31 January 2012, 23:58:49) Three suspects driving a white Opel Omega filled up with petrol to the value of R500. The suspects handed the petrol attendant a petrol card and fled.
The motto seems to be: ‘if you can’t afford it just steal it”. We say, if you can’t afford to drive it, start walking.
Sherwood, Summit Drive. Theft out of a Motor Vehicle - Residential (29 January 2012, 3:15:05) Suspects used a glass cutter to cut a hole in the passenger window of a Toyota Auris parked in the parking lot. A wallet was stolen.

Morningside, Earl Haig Road. Theft out of a Motor Vehicle - Residential (30 January 2012, 4:33:45) Suspects jumped over the wall and broke into a Hyundai Atos that was parked in the yard. A jacket was stolen from the vehicle.
Assagay, Bonaterra Road. Theft out of a Motor Vehicle - Residential (31 January 2012, 6:04:13) Suspects broke into a Peugot panel van parked on the premises. A wallet containing cash was stolen.
Wyebank, Wyebank Road. Theft out of a Motor Vehicle - Residential (02 February 2012, 2:27:11) A laptop was stolen from the back of a vehicle.
Hillcrest, Highland Road. Theft out of a Motor Vehicle - Residential (05 February 2012, 12:41:12) A bag of clothing was stolen from a car parked in the yard.
Queensburgh, Bouganvilla Road. Vandalism - Business (30 January 2012, 9:55:50) Suspects cut a hole in the electric fence at the back of the property.
Trespassing and vandalism sounds like a minor offense, however the only difference between trespassing and housebreaking or house robbery is time. Left to their own devices, and with enough time a trespasser becomes a housebreaker. So in real terms a trespasser is actually a housebreaker-to-be! Berea, Berea Road. Trespassing - Residential (28 January 2012, 6:31:10) A suspect jumped into the property but fled when he saw the resident.
New Germany, Berkshire Drive. Trespassing - Residential (29 January 2012, 4:01:12) The resident noticed two suspects in the yard. The suspects fled.
Berea, Vause Road. Trespassing - Residential (30 January 2012, 8:30:16) Suspects entered the premises through an unlocked pedestrian door. The resident pressed the panic alarm and the suspects fled.
Pinetown, Swales Crescent. Attempted Theft - Residential (31 January 2012, 11:53:01) A suspect was apprehended and arrested for attempting to steal a bicycle.
Sherwood, Rippon Crescent. Theft - Residential (31 January 2012, 2:39:12) Suspects were apprehended and arrested for stealing cables.
Glenwood, Nicolson Road. Theft - Residential (01 February 2012, 7:56:10) A suspect was apprehended for attempting to steal a lawnmower.
Chatsworth, Lemuria Grove. Trespassing - Business (01 February 2012, 3:01:08) Two suspects jumped over the fence and attempted to steal a pot. The suspects were confronted by the security guard who was assaulted. The suspects fled.
Escombe, Gilbert Road. Housebreaking - Residential (05 February 2012, 17:35:27) A bathroom window was forced open and a bicycle was stolen from the premises. The bicycle was recovered.
