BLUE ALERT # 140 FOR THE WEEK PRECEDING 29 MARCH 2011 Brazen car thieves were apprehended and arrested by the SAPS Dog Unit in Durban’s CBD this week following a high speed car chase involving a special projects manager from Blue Security. Well done to Blue’s determined manager who pursued the criminals from Glenashley into Durban’s CBD and managed to flag down the SAPS Dog Unit who arrested the thieves. All four car thieves are now in police custody. Phew! Be alert to an old scam that is reported to be doing the rounds again. The scammers try to get you to part with money to cover funeral expenses after informing you that your domestic worker or a staff member has passed away. There’s a sad act or person with a sob story at practically every robot and in every car park. Our advice is to ignore the sad stories no matter how convincing or you’ll end up being the loser.
