BLUE ALERT FOR ALL AREAS FOT THE WEEK PRECEEDING 21 JUNE 2010 There’s many a gate hopper making an appearance in our Blue Alert this week, but thankfully things have been quieter than usual (thanks to the large amount of Soccer World Cup games on, taking their minds off crime perhaps?). Let’s take a look at what’s been going on this past week. Effingham Heights, Radiyat Place. Armed Robbery – Residential (17 June 2010, 11:31) Two black males jumped over neighbour’s fence and entered the property. Suspects held up resident at gunpoint. A laptop, 2 cell phones and jewellery was stolen. Suspects fled in a silver VW Polo which was parked on the roadside. Carrington Heights, Mountain Rise. Housebreaking - Residential (18 June 2010, 14:02) Three black males entered the property posing as Metro electricity meter inspectors and held up the domestic worker while she was hanging clothes up on the line. Suspects locked domestic worker up inside the toilet. A TV, jewellery, digital camera, microwave and 3 watches were stolen. Suspect fled in a silver Opel Corsa bakkie. Clair Estate, O'Flaherty Road. Armed Robbery - Business (15 June 2010, 22:25) Five suspects entered the premises. One suspect held the staff up at gun point demanding cash and airtime. Two suspects stood outside and another 2 suspects were seated in a white Toyota. Three cell phones, cash and airtime was stolen. These guys obviously planned this heist very well. They made sure they had look-out and a getaway vehicle. Don’t underestimate the criminal mind…they are sometimes smarter than we think. Briadene, North Coast Road. Armed Robbery - Business (20 June 2010, 06:28) Three armed suspects entered the premises from the back. Three security guards on-site were held at gun point and then tied up. The guards’ cell phones and wallets were stolen. Ag shame man. It seems no one is safe. Farningham Ridge, Glide Road. Hijacking (17 June 2010, 17:06) Resident was held up by 2 black males when she parked her black VW Polo (CA 441369) outside the property. Suspects took car keys and fled in her vehicle. Amanzimtoti, Wade Road. Housebreaking - Residential (15 June 2010, 18:26) Entry gained via the lounge window. TV was stolen. Amanzimtoti, St Boniface Maze. Housebreaking - Residential (16 June 2010, 14:16) Suspects forced open the security gate and main door. A video camera, digital camera, cell phone, laptop and a safe containing jewellery was stolen. Athlone Park, Nkonka Crescent. Housebreaking - Residential (16 June 2010, 16:14) Five black males derailed the driveway gate and kicked the front door down. A plasma TV and cash was stolen. Hillary, Freemantle Road. Housebreaking - Residential (16 June 2010, 17:11) Front gate forced open and entry gained via front door. Blue Security Reaction Officer found suspects exiting premises. Three shots were fired at the suspects who fled in a white VW Polo. Cowies Hill, Rockhaven Road. Housebreaking - Residential (16 June 2010, 17:53) Front gate was forced open and entry gained via front door. A plasma TV was stolen. Pinetown, Glenridge Road. Housebreaking - Residential (17 June 2010, 06:58) Suspects broke in through the roof. Fibre glass sheeting towards the rear of the building was cut and pulled up and entry was gained into premises. Amanzimtoti, Francis Road. Housebreaking - Residential (17 June 2010, 07:15) Front sliding door of the upper level was forced open. Alarm was not armed. A cell phone, stereo system, 2 speakers and a DVD player was stolen. Once again, we are seeing cases where the alarm was not armed when a break-in occurs. St Winifreds, Almond Road. Housebreaking - Residential (17 June 2010, 10:04) Suspects broke the padlock on the front gate and forced open front door. A plasma screen and R800 cash was stolen. Glenwood, Nicholson Road. Housebreaking - Residential (17 June 2010, 14:04) Front window was left open. Suspects forced in the burglar guards and entry was gained. Jewellery, cash and a set of spare keys was stolen. Glenmore, Fielden Drive. Housebreaking – Residential (17 June 2010, 17:11) Entry gained by removing living room window and forcing in burglar bars. Electronic equipment and jewellery was stolen. Glen Hills, Plane Close. Housebreaking - Residential (18 June 2010, 18:32) Driveway gate was derailed and front door forced open. The safe was broken into and a passport and TV was stolen. Gillitts, Minerva Drive. Housebreaking - Residential (19 June 2010, 16:03) Front door and gate was forced open. Three TV’s, 2 laptops, jewellery, clothing and a watch stolen. Kloof, Msinsi Road. Housebreaking – Residential (20 June 2010, 01:12) Entry gained by breaking rear glass door. Two laptops were stolen. Kloof, Igwababa Road. Housebreaking - Residential (20 June 2010, 05:19) Entry gained via the hut door. A weed eater was stolen. Bothas Hill, Old Main Road. Housebreaking - Business (15 June 2010, 21:24) Rear gate lock was cut and entry gained via front door. A computer was stolen. Pinetown, Hillstreet Mall. Housebreaking - Business (17 June 2010, 20:40) Suspects entered premises via the roof. A safe, cigarettes and cash was stolen. Gillitts, Stockville Road. Housebreaking - Business (18 June 2010, 09:43) Three black males entered the property through a broken part of the fence. A cell phone and unknown amount of cash was stolen. Briardene, Marselles Crescent. Housebreaking - Business (19 June 2010, 06:01) Suspects derailed driveway gate and entry was gained via the front door/gate. A computer tower and cash was stolen. Westmead, Circuit Road. Housebreaking - Business (19 June 2010, 06:21) Suspects derailed driveway gates, gaining entry via the entrance door/gate. Two computers, a laptop, and petty cash was stolen. Springfield Park, Ebonyfield Avenue. Housebreaking - Business (19 June 2010, 19:05) Suspects derailed driveway gate, and gained entry by forcing open front door. Three computers were stolen. Assagay, Clement Dtott Road. Mugging – Assault (18 June 2010, 07:12) Domestic worker on the way to premises was attacked by 3 black males. One of the men was armed with a knife and another had a gun. The suspects fled the scene. Nothing was stolen. Hmm…a practice run for a future crime perhaps? Clairwood, Barrier Lane, Mugging – Assault (18 June 2010, 21:35) Whilst staff member was cashing up, 3 black males approached her, taking her handbag. Redhill, Orange Grove. Theft (18 June 2010, 06:25) Suspects jumped over wall and stole gate motor. Alverstone, District Road. Theft (19 June 2010, 11:17) Suspects were seen stealing metal piping from railway lines. Glenmore, Grosvenor Road. Theft out of Motor Vehicle (17 June 2010, 07:27) Suspects jumped over resident’s wall and broke into Toyota Yaris parked in the front yard. A JVC front loader and cell phone was stolen. Stamfordhill, Cobham Grove. Theft out of Motor Vehicle (17 June 2010, 08:57) A Mercedes parked outside the premises was broken into. Passenger side front glass was smashed. An iPod was stolen. SUCCESSES Amanzimtoti, Joyner Road. Theft (18 June 2010, 15:26) Two black males were found carrying a stolen geyser. The same geyser was stolen from Ridge Road earlier that day. Both suspects were apprehended. Glenwood / Glenmore, Haraldene Road. Theft (20 June 2010, 08:48) Blue Security Reaction Officer apprehended a white male stealing items on the premises.
