AN ALERT FROM ONE OF OUR READERS:
Some feedback to alert local residents. My wife was returning home from the airport and took the N3 Westville turnoff near the Pavillion at 20:30 on the 25th. Six males approached the vehicle at the traffic lights with two throwing a rock and brick simultaneously and the other four going for the back doors. Fortunately she had the presence of mind to accelerate through the red robot with the rock hitting the doorframe and the brick smashing the window and hitting her in the face. She managed to get away from the scene and was then assisted by a family home. When I took her to Westville hospital we heard of a similar incident that had taken place shortly before hers near the entrance to the hospital in Spine road. When I returned home with her later I noticed the street lights at that specific set of traffic lights only off the N3 were all out.
