Amanzimtoti, Kingsway & Sikes.  Hijacking Averted. (19 June, 23:23)
A member of the public driving a Nissan 1400 bakkie noticed that he was being followed by 3 men in a green Toyota Corolla, Reg. ND 542699. The Nissan driver decided to take evasive action, while chasing him the suspects in the Corolla were involved in an accident. All 3 suspects were taken in for questioning by SAPS.

It really pays to be alert while driving. Sometimes we may feel a little paranoid, thinking that we’re being followed by only to find that the person is coincidentally taking the same route as you. The truth is that it’s common practice for hijackers to follow their victim’s home. If you do suspect you are being followed, change your route and double back on yourself - if you are still being followed chances are it is intentional.  DO NOT GO HOME.  Stay mobile, you are most at risk when you stop. Drive to somewhere public where there is a lot of activity and people around, or there is one close to you, drive straight to a police station. If you’re a Blue Security client press your cellphone panic, we’ll call you back and make arrangements for a reaction officer to escort you home.
