The term Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Surveillance describes the use of video cameras to view and transmit a video signal to a specific set of display monitors and or recording devices. CCTV is often used for security surveillance in areas such as banks, casinos, airports, military installations and convenience stores, or in the workplace to monitor productivity. CCTV systems may operate continuously on a 24 hour basis, or only as required to monitor or record a particular event.
